Didgital Sound Bath

Location: Homestead Resort, Midway, UT
Luxuriate and meditate in a wash of sound as Randin Graves performs work in the vein of his album ‘Didgital’ featuring solo didgeridoo through effects to create a dense and transporting ambient experience.
What to bring: bring a mat, pillow, and/or blanket for your comfort. Chairs for those who prefer to be seated will be provided.

DidgeFest: Introduction to the Didgeridoo for Beginners

Location: Homestead Resort, Midway, UT
Learn all you need to know to get started on a lifelong journey with the didgeridoo – background on the instrument from someone who lived at its origin and all the basic skills to play it. You’ll learn to make the basic tone, vary it, add your voice, make basic rhythms, and begin to wrap your brain around the concept of circular breathing.
What to bring: Bring your own didgeridoo or use one of Randin’s PVC instruments.

DidgeFest: Playshop for Intermediate and Advanced Players

Do you already have at least the basics of didgeridoo playing and want to expand your technique and learn to play with others? Randin will conduct the madness with some structured improvisations including complementary and contrasting rhythms for multiple players. Get some new ideas and contribute your own as we make some noise together.
What to bring: BYOD (bring your own didgeridoo)

about randin gravesRandin is a dual citizen of the USA and Australia, a Fulbright Fellow, former coordinator of one of Australia’s leading Aboriginal Art Centres, one of the world’s leading experts on the musical instrument known as the didgeridoo, and a fun guy to hang around with. He has lectured everywhere from elementary schools in the USA to the National Museum of Australia. He has performed in settings as diverse as a classical concert at the Australian Embassy in Washington, D.C., jazz festivals in Europe, and Aboriginal festivals in Australia.
He brings his diverse musical and cultural experience to performances and workshops with the dual goals of expanding the musicality of the didgeridoo and instilling respect for the people who originated it. Learn more about Randin here. |
