Flute Circle Facilitation
with Kalani Das
Helping People Play Well Together
Community Music Facilitation is an Art Form in and of itself. With over 35 years of experience in helping create community music experiences in settings ranging from music festivals to music therapy, and having published numerous resources on the subject, Kalani will share ways to create and support group music-making experiences that not only allow for maximum creativity but also what many people seek in group music making: connection with others.
This 3-hour workshop is for anyone who wishes to facilitate community music experiences and be of service to others. A foundation and experience in music making and improvisation are recommended, but not required. We will explore ways to help create accessible and satisfying musical experiences for small to large groups, focusing on the facilitative process and the personal/emotional experience, as much as musical outcomes.
