Back Home at the Homestead in 2022!

Immerse yourself in the Flute School experience and stay at The Homestead Resort. Impromptu jams, morning walks around the quiet grounds, and more time to build new friendships are some of the benefits of staying onsite. 

The Homestead Resort has been the gathering place of the Solstice Flute School and Festival since 2017. The resort has been recently renovated while retaining the pastoral setting. Classes and activities take advance of the beautiful outdoor setting. Soak or flute in The Crater, a geo-thermal hot spring on site. Learn more about its history, accommodations, and amenities.

Special Lodging Rates for Students

The Homestead Resort, location of the Solstice Flute School & Festival, provides a special room rates per night of $145 for a Traditional (double queen or single king), $145 for a Traditional ADA king, or $197.00 for a Cottage King. Discounted rates are available for reservations made by 5/20/22 (depending upon availability). Register early as rooms may sell out. Special rates are available for room reservations from 6/17-6/29/22.

Solstice Flute School room commitment
As part of our venue contract, the School is responsible for filling a block of rooms--either with student bookings or purchase. We encourage students to consider staying at the Homestead to help keep tuition costs down.

Woodsounds tour & BBQ

Saturday, before School 4-7pm
Join flutemaker Brent Haines at his Woodsounds Flute shop in Mapleton, Utah! RSVP to attend the evening including a shop tour, BBQ and the fixings. Meet fellow students and bring your instruments to jam! RSVP for directions and details.

​The Wasatch Mountains offer countless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Stroll the Homestead Resort grounds or travel a short distance to hiking trails in the valley or mountains. Hike or visit the cave at Mt. Timpanogos. Local outfitters offer mountain biking, fly fishing, horseback riding and other outdoor excursions.

The nearest major airport to the Solstice Flute School & Festival is Salt Lake City International Airport. Drive time to the Homestead Resort is approximately 45 minutes. Transportation services such as shuttles, Lyft and Uber are available. Many of our students find coordinating ride shares helpful.

Weather

The Solstice Flute School experience is due in part to its beautiful location in the Wasatch Mountain Range. Utah mountain weather offers sunny, warm days and cool nights. For your added comfort, dress accordingly and hydrate a few days in advance of attending.
