The Historic Homestead Resort, located in Midway, Utah is home to the Solstice Flute School & Festival. This beautiful, rustic resort is nestled at the base of the Wasatch Mountains, 20 miles from Park City. All school and festival activities will take place at the resort. The resort offers lodging, restaurants, a geothermal soaking pool in The Crater, and a golf course. Hiking, camping, additional lodging options and restaurants are accessible within a short distance. Nearby, lively Park City offers a colorful history – Main Street with its shops, mining museum, art galleries, restaurants and street markets – the Utah Olympic Park museum and training facility, and many outdoor outfitters and activities.

Special Lodging Rates for Students

The Homestead Resort, location of the Solstice Flute School & Festival, provides a special room rate of $119 - $199 for reservations made by May 17, 2019. Reserve early as rooms book up early.

Wasatch State Park​ is one-mile from the Homestead Resort and offers group, individual, cabin and hook up. Jordonelle State Park is another option nearby. BOOK EARLY as these are popular summer destination.

​Multiple lodging options are available within a few miles of the Solstice Flute Fest venue in Midway and Heber City. Local lodging options such as Airbnb and VRBO are recommended three months in advance.

By Air
The nearest major airport to the Solstice Flute School & Festival is Salt Lake City. Drive time to the Homestead Resort is approximately 45 minutes. Transportation services such as shuttles, Lyft and Uber are available. Many of our students find coordinating ride shares helpful.

Weather

The Solstice Flute School experience is due in part to its beautiful location in the Wasatch Mountain Range. Utah mountain weather offers sunny, warm days and cool nights. For your added comfort, dress accordingly and hydrate a few days in advance of attending.

Saturday, June 15th @ 4 pm
Join flutemaker Brent Haines at his Woodsounds Flute shop in Mapleton, Utah! RSVP to attend the evening including a shop tour, BBQ and the fixings. Meet fellow students and bring your instruments to jam! RSVP for directions and details.

​The Wasatch Mountains offer countless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Stroll the Homestead Resort grounds or travel a short distance to hiking trails in the valley or mountains. Hike or visit the cave at Mt. Timpanogos. Local outfitters offer mountain biking, fly fishing, horseback riding and other outdoor excursions.
